Get to know Our Partner Trish Shepherd

This week we chatted with none other than our marvellous Partner, Trish Shepherd. Trish took time out from her busy schedule to give us an insight into her life, discussing movies, inspirational people, and bananas.

What is something you learned in the last week?

Covid 19 is here to stay?

What does a typical day at Sprout Ag look like for you?

Never a dull moment!  Always new and varied leads and then working about getting the deals approved and settled!

How do you balance your career and family?

Can be difficult at times but organisation is the key!

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

Very left of centre – a naturopath!

What drew you to Sprout Ag, and how has Sprout Ag changed since you began?

Having worked for a major bank for over 20 years I was keen to remain in banking but wanted a company that was as client focussed as I was.  Sprout was all that and more, and the business continues to flourish.

Any favourite line from a movie?

Bit of a cliché but “show me the money”

Tell us something that might surprise us about you?

I hate bananas – haha

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

To be a good dancer – we all have dreams right?

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?

Bill Gates – clearly a well known business leader but I love his philanthropic nature which is as much a factor in his success!

What are 3 words you’d use to describe Sprout Ag?

Agribusiness, Finance, Focussed

Where is your favourite place to be?

There’s no place like home but a stint at the beach every now and then is very appealing too!

Where is the best place you’ve travelled and why?

Travelled to WA many years ago with a large group. Camped there and back with 16 horses – best trip of my life!

What’s the weirdest job/business request you’ve had? Did you do it? (either previous to Sprout or since you’ve begun).

There have been some website referrals for a Camel Farm, Hemp Farm, Yabby Farm and Donkey Farm to name a few – One of the referrals was ironically on April Fool’s Day but it was a genuine enquiry!

Favourite activity to do outside of business hours?

Play Polocrosse/Ride horses

You’re having a dinner party- who’s invited?

I guess if Bill Gates is to be my mentor he had better be invited.  I am an avid Rugby League Fan so I’ll invite Kevvie Walters and lucky last I am a diehard “Suits” fan so evening would be complete with “Harvey Specter”
