Get to know Our Partner Peter Hollingworth

Not only is it important at Sprout Ag to be growing our clients; but it’s just as important to be growing our people also. This month in the spotlight is our Partner at Dubbo, Peter Hollingworth

What is something you learned in the last week?

Training is never finished, doesn’t seem to matter what work you do there is always upskilling needed or required

What does a typical day at Sprout Ag look like for you?

Hopefully on the road on farm to visit a client or prospective client as that’s the best part of the job

If not, I’m in the office, a quick prioritising of tasks, then:

  • Analysis financials, writing up proposals
  • Following up banks on progress etc

How do you balance your career and family?

Always difficult, if anyone has the secret please let me know.

Just try to do the best I can in both areas.

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

Ideally I‘d hope it was getting paid to play a sport, but short on ability so it’ll never happen.

What drew you to Sprout Ag? And how has Sprout Ag changed since you began?

Having come from a banking background, I like the direct client focus without all the other internal noise and fighting to get things done.

As far as how has it changed, it’s hard to comment being pretty new but I’d suggest the growth in size and uptake of Sprout Ag’s services.

Any favourite line from a movie?

I love movies but there are so many good lines (Gladiator, Brave Heart, A few Good men etc etc) it’s too hard to pick

Tell us something that might surprise us about you?

I’ll pick the Turkish Delights 1st in a Cadbury favourite box

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

Probably play the guitar properly rather then couple of songs half way through, hard to find the time & motivation

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?

Mark Bouris jumps to mind but I’m not sure that any one person has it all figured out

What are 3 words you’d use to describe Sprout Ag?

Where is your favourite place to be?

I like being at home

Where is the best place you’ve travelled and why?

I’m not well travelled but loved Fiji or just a good coastal holiday.

What’s the weirdest job/business request you’ve had? Did you do it? (either previous to Sprout or since you’ve begun)

Probably the most left field would be to finance a fish farm, Bank I previous worked for did not have an appetite for that area of agriculture.

Favourite activity to do outside of business hours?

Mucking about on our little farm and a bit of cycling with mates.

You’re having a dinner party- who’s invited?

Close friends and Kevin Hart
